New Manchester United boss, Ruben Amorim, has stated that Pep Guardiola signing a fresh contract at Manchester City is “an issue for everyone.”
Amorim will oversee his first match against Ipswich Town on Sunday.
The 39-year-old hopes to become the first United coach to claim the league title since Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013.
His arrival at Old Trafford aligns with Guardiola’s choice to accept a new contract, keeping him at the Etihad Stadium until 2027.
“I believe it’s an issue for everyone, but we have so much work to do that we cannot worry about anyone,” Amorim explained.
“We just need to focus on improving our team and not concentrate on others. It’s remarkable; beating that team would be a great indicator, but we are focused solely on Manchester United.”
