Ruud van Nistelrooy Appointed as Leicester City’s New Head Coach

Leicester City have unveiled Manchester United icon Ruud van Nistelrooy as their latest head coach.

The Foxes revealed the update on their official site on Friday.

“We are thrilled to announce the hiring of Ruud van Nistelrooy as Leicester City’s new First Team Manager,” the club stated.

“The 48-year-old Dutch legend brings extensive expertise from the highest level of football, both as a player and a trainer, and has finalized a deal through June 2027.

“Ruud will travel to the UK in time to attend our Premier League fixture at Brentford on Saturday, before taking over full First Team duties starting Sunday.”

The team will be overseen at the Gtech Community Stadium by First Team Coach Ben Dawson, assisted by trainers Danny Alcock and Andy Hughes.

“Recognized as one of the Premier League’s finest-ever forwards during his playing career, the former Netherlands international has developed a solid reputation as a skilled manager and mentor with teams such as PSV Eindhoven, Manchester United, and the Dutch national side.”
