Veteran FC Dallas shot-stopper Jimmy Maurer is remaining in the Lone Star State, as the Houston Dynamo inked him to a two-year agreement on Tuesday. Financial details were not revealed.
Maurer, 36, participated in 66 league games (65 starts) for FC Dallas across eight seasons with the squad from 2017 to 2024. He joined Dallas on a short-term loan from the NISA’s New York Cosmos in 2017 before signing with the club permanently the following season.
He has 16 regular-season shutouts in his MLS tenure.
“Jimmy offers significant expertise, coupled with a drive to achieve that can motivate and uplift the entire team,” Dynamo general manager Pat Onstad said in a release. “He’s an experienced goalkeeper who has solidified his place in the league, and we’re thrilled to have him join us heading into the 2025 campaign. The Dynamo welcomes Jimmy and his amazing family to the Houston community.”
