Barcelona have won the LaLiga title for the 28th time after beating their city rivals Espanyol 2-0, with two games still left to play.
The match started with lots of excitement and noise from the fans, but Barcelona quickly took control. Although Espanyol had a big chance to score early, they couldn’t take it. Barcelona had most of the ball but found it hard to create clear chances in the first half. Lewandowski had a couple of efforts, but nothing went in, and the score stayed 0-0 at halftime.
In the second half, Barcelona came out stronger. Young star Lamine Yamal scored a beautiful curling goal just seven minutes after the break. That lifted the team, and they looked more dangerous after that.
Espanyol tried to fight back, but Barcelona’s goalkeeper Szczęsny made a key save to keep the lead. Later, Espanyol’s Leandro Cabrera was sent off for hitting Yamal, making things even harder for the home team.
In the final minutes, Fermín López scored Barcelona’s second goal to seal the win. The victory not only gave Barcelona the title, but it also completed a domestic treble for them this season. They are now unbeaten in their last 16 LaLiga games.
Meanwhile, Espanyol still have to fight to stay in the league, with two games left to secure their safety.
