Dimarco Masterclass Sinks Sassuolo as Inter Stretch Serie A Lead to Eight Points

Azuka

Federico Dimarco delivered a stunning three assist masterclass as Inter Milan demolished Sassuolo 5-0 on Sunday, surging eight points clear at the Serie A summit while Juventus stumbled in a dramatic late comeback against Lazio.

The flying wing back was irresistible from the start, clearing a goal bound effort off his own line before setting up Inter’s opener with a pinpoint corner for Yann Bisseck’s headed finish. He rattled the crossbar with a wicked free kick soon after, then twice more turned provider, first for Marcus Thuram’s clever flick, and finally for Manuel Akanji to head home another set piece.

“I don’t feel like I’m anyone,” a typically humble Dimarco said afterwards. “In football, when things are going well you’re a phenomenon, but when things go badly you’re nothing. I keep working as I know how.”

His work ethic is fuelling a formidable Inter machine. Captain Lautaro Martínez fired home a fourth to move joint third on the club’s all time scorers list, before substitute Luis Henrique wrapped up the rout late on. Sassuolo’s misery was compounded by Nemanja Matić’s straight red card for dissent. The victory extends Inter’s unbeaten league run to 12 games, 11 wins and a draw in what’s becoming a procession toward the Scudetto.

Juve Stage Late Escape But Drop Crucial Points
In Turin, Juventus needed a 94th minute equaliser from French defender Kalulu to snatch a 2-2 draw with Lazio after a bafflingly sluggish performance. The hosts dominated early but were punished either side of half time, with Pedro and Gustav Isaksen capitalising on defensive errors to put Lazio two up.

Weston McKennie’s header gave Juve hope just before the hour, but they toiled until the final seconds when Kalulu bundled home from a corner. The relief was palpable, but the damage was done: Juventus have now won just once in six league matches. The draw leaves the door wide open for Roma, who can draw level with fourth placed Juve by beating Cagliari on Monday.

Around the Grounds
At the bottom, Lecce gave their survival hopes a major lift with a 2-1 home win over Udinese, moving three points clear of the drop zone. Parma also boosted their chances with a dramatic 1-0 win at Bologna, sealed by Christian Ordóñez’s 95th minute winner.

The title race now looks Inter’s to lose, while the battle for Champions League football grows ever more tense. With Dimarco in this kind of form, Simone Inzaghi’s side show no signs of slowing down.
