Super Eagles Soar Into AFCON Quarter-Finals With “Fourmidable” Mozambique Thumping As Goldberg Hails Fan Power
Nigeria’s Super Eagles are into the last eight of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations in style, after a blistering 4-0 win over Mozambique that has got the whole nation believing. The victory seals a perfect group stage and sends a stark warning to their rivals.
The performance was described as “fourmidable” by team sponsors Goldberg Lager Beer, and it’s hard to argue. From front to back, Jose Peseiro’s side were in complete control, putting four past a shell shocked Mozambique to top their group with maximum points. The win extends their flawless run and firmly plants them as one of the favourites for the title.
“The Super Eagles were simply ‘fourmidable’,” said Goldberg’s Senior Brand Manager, Kunle Aroyehun. “It was a confident, disciplined and exciting performance. As the team pushes deeper into the tournament and chases a fourth AFCON title, the support of Nigerian fans becomes even more important.”
Goldberg, as the team’s official beer, has been at the heart of the fan frenzy back home. Their ‘Our Beat, Our Gold’ campaign has seen viewing centres pop up across Lagos and beyond, packed with supporters clutching ice cold beers. “It’s in the cheers, the conversations, the jokes and the belief,” Aroyehun added. “When the Super Eagles win like this, you can feel that rhythm everywhere.”
The brand’s long standing partnership with the NFF, dating back to 2018, means they’ve been here for the highs and lows. Right now, it’s all highs. With the quarter finals secured, the focus sharpens. Nigeria’s next test comes this Saturday, and Goldberg are already prepping to bring the crowds together once more.
They’ll be hosting another fan experience at the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Social Development in Dopemu, Lagos, opening from 3pm ahead of a 5pm kick off. Following the Mozambique success, they’re also bringing back the ‘Festival of Light & Drums’ to add some extra cultural flair to the party.
The momentum is undeniable. The Super Eagles are flying, the fans are in full voice, and history is in their sights. As Aroyehun put it: “The journey is not over. The team is gunning for a fourth AFCON title, and the fans have a big role to play.” On this form, you wouldn’t bet against them.
