WSL — Super Falcons Star Nnadozie Lands Save of the Month Nomination After CAF Hat-Trick Glory

Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has been nominated for the Barclays Women’s Super League Save of the Month for November, capping off a remarkable spell that also saw her clinch a third consecutive CAF Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year crown.

Nnadozie, who joined Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer, earned the nomination for a brilliant first half stop in the Seagulls’ 1-1 draw away to Liverpool. The 24 year old reacted sharply to palm away a thunderous long-range strike from Japan’s Fūka Nagano a decisive moment that helped Brighton secure a vital away point.

The Nigerian star faces strong competition for the award, including Liverpool’s Faye Kirby, who also produced standout saves in the same fixture. Aston Villa’s Sabrina D’Angelo and Manchester City’s Ayaka Yamashita complete the shortlist, reflecting the rising quality and depth of goalkeeping talent across the WSL.

Nnadozie’s nomination comes just days after she added another CAF crown to her résumé, further solidifying her reputation as one of the world’s elite shot stoppers. Her performances have been pivotal for both club and country, particularly during Nigeria’s triumph at the last WAFCON in Morocco, where the Super Falcons lifted a historic tenth continental title.

Now thriving in England’s top tier, Nnadozie will be pushing to claim her first WSL individual honour as she continues a blistering start to life at Brighton.
